The Top 3 Reasons Why Travel Should Be an Essential Part of Your Life – Part 2

The Top 3 Reasons Why Travel Should Be an Essential Part of Your Life – Part 2

This is a continuation from Part 1.

2. It Will Renew You

Ongoing travel can renew your mind, your body and your spirit. Changing your environment can help to breathe fresh energy through all areas of your life. It can renew you in a way that gives you greater strength to run on. To endure whatever may lie ahead, because you’ve been renewed in a way that makes you feel refreshed and strengthened mentally and emotionally.

Many times when we are overwhelmed with our daily lives, burdens and challenges, we become consumed with the things that are not going the way we want them to go or desire them to be at any given time.

It is when we can remove ourselves from the ordinary, mundane lives that we often create and experience a new environment, have a new perspective that we can create a significant shift. Without the ability to remove ourselves from the stress in our normal environment and go into something new, we never get the renewed perspective to tell ourselves that life isn’t nearly as negative as it may sometimes seem to be when the stress of life wears us down.

3. It Can Bring You More Joy

The change of your environment and your perspective can change all areas of your mindset and thinking. It can shift you from seeing the glass half empty to seeing the glass half full. It can restore you. It can remove the mental weights, stress and change your mood. It can inspire you again.

The ability to have many of these negative things fall away, in and of themselves, is enough to create the space for more joy in your life. To help you see more positive in your life than negative. To help you believe again – dream again. You will be amazed at what life has to offer you when you simply open yourself up to being in a different environment for a period of time.

Your travel doesn’t have to be expensive. You don’t have to go to the other side of the world. You can simply go someplace that’s just a car ride away. It’s all about removing yourself from the ordinary and immersing yourself in someplace new, fresh and different to you.

I promise your life can be transformed simply by consistently injecting travel into your life.

The Top 3 Reasons Why Travel Should Be an Essential Part of Your Life – Part 1

The Top 3 Reasons Why Travel Should Be an Essential Part of Your Life – Part 1

Traveling is good for the soul. It allows you to get out of your own world, your own space and your own head. It grants you the opportunity to see what’s possible in your own life by viewing what is possible in others.

Depending on where you travel, you can experience a world that doesn’t even remotely look similar to yours. One that can inspire a new level of living. A new level of being.

These are the top 3 reasons why travel should be an essential part of your life:

1. It Will Expand Your Mind

Traveling allows you to see how other people live, other people’s experiences and other people’s perspectives.

When you leave your environment and go to a new one, it allows you to see things differently in a way you weren’t able to see before. You can experience different cultures, lifestyles and ways of living. You can experience different religions, cultures and mindsets.

Whenever I travel, I am excited to see and experience what I have yet to learn. An environment totally and completely foreign to the one I know.

For some, this can be fearful – to be removed from their comfort zone. But I believe that it allows you to see if your comfort zone is really not worth leaving. Perhaps for you it is, but you will never truly know unless you see and learn another way, which will allow you to test the one you have and measure it up with the one you choose to live.

For others, it’s like the air that allows us to thrive. I have friends who literally work just to travel. They come home, back to the US, to work really hard for three months in preparation for them to travel to some far away place for a month or two at a time. The beautiful thing is that we live in a world that allows us to do this fairly freely.

A plane ride away can change everything that you thought you once knew and open you up to a new higher way of being.

My Travel Series: 24 Hours in Asheville – Part 2

My Travel Series: 24 Hours in Asheville – Part 2

This is a continuation of Part 1.

One of my favorite places in Asheville was the Wake Foot Sanctuary. This was a fabulous foot spa. All things around peacefulness, relaxation and serenity greet you when you enter this uncommon space. While my feet were being focused on by the wonderful attendant who was bathing and massaging them, I was busy attending to the lovely cookies and hot tea I was served during the service. Afternoon tea while having my feet cared for. It doesn’t get much better than that!

After the foot sanctuary, we had lunch at Capella on the 9, which is on the rooftop of the AC Hotel Asheville Downtown. This restaurant was recommended for its wonderful city views. Rooftop venues are often very cool places to see the aerial view of the city and to get the city’s vibe.

My absolute favorite restaurant I went to was no surprise – Asian! Red Ginger Dimsum & Tapas was amazing! This had to be the best restaurant I’ve gone to in a very long time. Each and every item was better than the last. Their tapa sized plates were absolutely scrumptious! If for no other reason, I will return back to Asheville just to eat there again. Simply delicious!!!

But I will also be returning to Asheville to do the tour at the famous Biltmore Estate. I went to the grounds while there, but didn’t have enough time to do the tour.

One of my very favorite things to do when I’m in a new place is to check out the real estate. As a real estate broker and investor, I just couldn’t come through Asheville without seeing at least a slice of what their real estate market had to offer. So before leaving, I stopped to see some gorgeous mountain homes and spent some time with a local broker to learn all about the lay of the land for their market.

When I return for my next trip to Asheville, I will spend more time exploring the real estate market there as well as uncover some of the hidden treasures I may not have been able to find during my first 24 hours there. Although short in time, the experience of being in Asheville will last a lifetime. And between not experiencing a place or just being there for 24 hours, I will take only 24 hours in a new city every time!
